IDYL Space

Your neighborhood co-working space in Portland

Working from home is great, but more and more people are looking to find ways to get a change of scenery without fully returning to the office — and without losing those living room vibes.
As a co-working space with drop-in options, Idyl Space allows people to balance all styles of work beautifully.
Located in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Portland, Idyl is a creative co-working space for small teams, entrepreneurs, start ups, freelancers, designers and remote workers.

Cait and Zachary Davis, the owners of Idyl and Never Coffee Lab, bought the building in 2016. In another life, the building was a vacuum repair shop.
Zachary Davis designed the space and interiors alongside a builder and structural architect. Much of the furniture and many of the light fixtures are custom made.
The brandname “Idyl” stands for an extremely happy, peaceful or picturesque episode or scene. Envisioned as the manifestation of “idyll,” the space feels picturesque and peaceful, where people have quiet private working areas and spaces to mingle in a well designed space with easy access to neighborhood favorites.
Beautiful spaces have an amazing effect on humans. A curated space with core amenities excites people to come back. Greenery, like the plants you’ll find in Idyl Space, reduces stress and inspires more productive working sessions.
When you enter Idyl through the wide wood door, you are welcomed into a bright open floor plan that holds meeting areas, office space, a conference table with Herman Miller chairs, a sound proof area for private meetings and modular sofas based on the designs of Mario Bellini, which are the perfect spots to take a break in between work sessions.
Open wood beams, skylight windows, a sunlit deck in the back of the studio and wide windows in the front allow the daylight to naturally brighten the space.
Cait and Zachary have a long family history in the neighborhood. Both sets of their parents met and married in the neighborhood, and Cait and Zachary currently reside there with their family. They love that the space feels like a part of the neighborhood. Just steps from the co-working space you can find amazing foodie spots like The Bite on Belmont food court, Ardor Natural Wines, Nil Bar and Never Coffee Lab.
Idyl Space offers memberships and drop-in options. Member amenities include access to the focus booths, printers, a kitchen, monitors, storage areas, mail service, an hour per week in the meeting space and a $25 monthly credit at Never Coffee Lab.
